Tim O'Reilly annonserade igår att O'Reilly startar ett eget Riskkapitalbolag. Nyheterna har det ryktats om ett tag på nätet, men det har nu även annonserats för allmänheten. Bolaget kommer att få namnet O'Reilly AlphaTech Ventures och finns på www.oatv.com.
De bolag som kommer utgöra målgruppen för riskkapitalet är “potentially disruptive technologies coming from outside the mainstream, often from enthusiasts who only later realize that they've created a new industry.”
Oatvs tre första investeringar är Instructables, Chumby och Wesabe.
